The Rental Services department at Boosey & Hawkes has a customer base of over 7,000 organisations and individuals throughout the UK, Europe and ROW, and has relationships with agents in key territories.  Sheet music is supplied on hire to customers of all types e.g. soloists, composers, conductors, promoters, orchestras, opera ballet companies.

 

As Rental Services Coordinator, responsible for accurately and promptly fulfilling orders from amateur clients while delivering exceptional customer service. The position provides precise catalogue information, repertoire guidance, and friendly, reliable support by phone, email, and in person. Additionally, the role assists the VP of Rental Services as needed and contributes as a flexible, collaborative team member committed to maintaining high standards of performance.

 
 

 

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

 

Assessing priorities within the high volume of orders received every day; monitoring the progress of orders through to fulfilment; processing payments including handling cheques and credit cards.

 

Outline of Specific Functions:

  • Processing and progressing UK amateur applications to present Boosey & Hawkes repertoire in concert.
  • Track and log advance payments received.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate and up-to-date records for licensing and reference purposes.
  • Track overdue materials daily and initiate recall notices promptly.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve delays and apply late fees per policy when necessary.
  • Answering questions from all sources of a musicological nature, e.g. ascertaining correct editions, keys and arrangements to be supplied to customers, differentiating between revised and unrevised versions of works, assisting customers in ascertaining beginnings and endings of excerpts to be supplied.

 

 

Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • A thorough understanding of classical music to university graduate level; this should include training in both music history and theory; the ability to read music (all clefs) and to judge the key of a piece of music.
  • An attention to detail and accuracy, particularly related to data entry.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word and Excel, and good typing skills.
