Concord’s US Copyright department plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive and efficient rights management administration of our music catalogs, safeguarding copyrights and maximizing revenue for all of our stakeholders.

 

As the Copyright Coordinator, you'll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Information Service function within Concord’s US Copyright department.  As a key point of contact and service provider for various departments within Concord, your role will involve extensive interaction and communication with both internal teams and external clients. Your objective will be to facilitate the delivery of exceptional service by ensuring all information requests – including disputes, counterclaims, claim confirmations, label copy, and all other general rights inquiries – are reviewed, researched and responded to timely and accurately. Works under direct supervision of Copyright Manager.

 

The ideal candidate for this role is an effective communicator, pays attention to detail, prioritizes time management, is organized, and utilizes problem-solving/critical thinking skills. They are also keenly committed to providing service excellence, embracing continuous improvement, driving change and taking initiative.  Having a  growth mindset as well as working  effectively under general supervision is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Provide best-in-class customer service  to Concord clients, business partners and internal customers
  • Help review, research and provide timely responses to claim/rights queries and information requests, from internal and external parties such as other Concord US business sectors, Concord writers and clients, Concord sub-publishers and affiliates, business partners, performing/mechanical rights societies and 3rd party writers and publishers
  • Support Information Services Team by handling inquiries and requests submitted via Concord’s shared Copyright Inbox and JIRA Service Portal
  • Respond to label copy requests by verifying Concord’s mechanical claims
  • Manage the addition of  recording information to Concord’s internal database based on mechanical licenses, ensuring our information is up-to-date and troubleshooting any issues related to the data entry in iMaestro.
  • Submit company claims to the MDX portal, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant guidelines.Assist with research, review and interpretation of publishing agreements, providing documentation to The MLC to document Concord’s claims as part of MLC Dispute Policy
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of music publishing/copyright administration experience
  • Demonstrated experience researching, reviewing, extrapolating and interpreting information from music publishing agreements
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining high quality standards
  • Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a drive for constant improvement
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate and explain complex information, adapting presentation and focus to varying audiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (lookup functions, pivot tables, cleaning data, conditional formatting, etc.)

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
