The Global Income Tracking Department plays an integral role in maximizing revenue collections, while bringing to attention issues regarding the company’s revenue and internal processes that may have a direct impact on revenue collection and income processing.

 

As the Income Tracking Coordinator, Label Group, you'll be responsible for supporting the general income tracking team personnel and initiatives, which consist of tracking and ensuring timely and proper collection of revenue for Concord’s sound recording repertoire throughout the world. This individual must inherently possess great business acumen and professionalism and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. They must also demonstrate a willingness and ability to quickly learn and develop an understanding of Concord’s end-to-end registration, revenue and royalty collection processes, as well as general music industry practices. This position will support a department whose mission is to identify and collect on unreported and underreported income streams.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

The Income Tracking Coordinator will provide support to the Recorded Music income tracking team. This individual will primarily assist with the tracking, analyzing, and processing of Concord’s incoming third-party licensing revenue streams. This role will also assist with data management and research exercises, will assist in identifying incorrect revenue reporting, and will aid in research and analysis of industry data trends.

 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the discovery and recovery of unpaid and underpaid revenue worldwide.
  • Track, analyze, and process/book third-party licensing revenue worldwide.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining regular industry and/or source specific analysis and trend reports.
  • Review and analyze distribution reports and agreements from/with third party accounts to ensure revenue received is full and in accordance with the relevant licensing terms.
  • Provide support for income tracking and revenue analysis related inquiries from other departments and clients.

Outline of Specific Functions:

  • Review and maintain Concord’s existing and new third-party royalty revenue portfolios and portals, ensuring new royalty accounts are set up correctly and timely in accordance with the underlying agreement(s).
  • Communicate with outside royalty sources for the purpose of resolving account or payment holds, initiating account set-ups, raising and resolving royalty related issues, or addressing other source specific blockers or initiatives. 
  • Liaise with Business Affairs on all outstanding and new guest artist arrangements, outside releases, JVs, or other royalty participation deals to confirm terms and ensure royalties from outside labels are directed to Concord appropriately. 
  • Assist with review of contractual third-party agreements, Ancillary licensing agreements, acquisition documents, and statements to help identify compliance issues or report discrepancies 5%
  • Wrangling statement data from payment sources as needed for processing and analysis.
  • Carry out quarterly and monthly analysis, processing, and booking of third-party statement data and licensing revenue, including creating, sending, and tracking outbound invoices to foreign sources in order to receive payment. 
  • Provide general support to income tracking team members and other departments as needed Including assisting with departmental research, updating regular departmental reports, and assisting with ad-hoc analysis projects, including highly confidential projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music, business or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Entry level or 1 year business experience required.
  • Experience analyzing royalty statements of various formats/types a plus.
  • Intermediate experience with licensing agreements and other music business contracts a plus.
  • Outstanding verbal, written communication, and organization skills required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with ability to perform advanced formulas and nested formulas, pivot tables, “if then” statements, data/sorts, PowerQuery, etc.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, with an ability to manage large and widespread workloads, prioritize demands with deadlines, and show discretion with confidential materials required.
  • The ability to work with numbers, spot trends and draw meaningful conclusions from data required.
  • Ability to exercise analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to problem-solve and find data-based resolutions required.
  • Willingness to adapt and acquire new skills as new technologies emerge required.
  • Self-starter work initiative and an ability to work independently and with a team.
  • SQL, ETL, DAX experience a plus.

 

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
