As the Copyright Intern, you will gain insight into the inner workings of the Copyright Department and specifically how song registration directly affects song licensing and the collection of royalties. You will learn how Copyright interacts with all other departments (A&R for new song delivery and Billboard reporting, Creative & Licensing for synch pitching and placement, Mechanical licensing when songs are released, Income Tracking, and Royalties for the final client royalty statement.) Our hope is that the Copyright intern will come to have a better understanding of the music publishing industry and the critical functions that Copyright handles. In addition to making meaningful industry connections to add to their professional network.
