The Global Income Tracking Department plays an integral role in maximizing revenue collections, while bringing to attention issues regarding the company’s revenue and internal processes that may have a direct impact on revenue collection and income processing.

 

As the Senior Manager Audits and Income Tracking, you'll oversee royalty audit initiatives for both Concord’s Label Group and Music Publishing divisions.  They will coordinate end-to-end processes for all inbound and out-bound royalty audit examinations.This individual will perform desk audits, working closely with other departments to identify areas of lost and/or missing revenue and bringing to attention any issues regarding Concord’s internal processes that may have a direct impact on revenue collection and royalty processing.They will work under the general direction of VP of Income Tracking to develop processes and strategies that foster the department’s growth and long-term success.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

Senior Manager, Audits and Income Tracking will lead efforts to ensure revenue is accurately received at the source and correctly processed through to clients. This role is responsible for managing both outbound and inbound royalty examinations, overseeing the full lifecycle of the process, and ensuring timely resolution of claims. This individual will develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of Concord’s end-to-end revenue and royalty processes across both the Label Group and Music Publishing divisions. This includes in-depth knowledge of contractual obligations, catalog registration and delivery, revenue collection, financial workflows, royalty cycles, and distributions. They will also lead catalog acquisition tracking and monitor the account redirection process. Serving as a critical liaison within the company, this position will communicate essential and sensitive insights from departmental findings and initiatives to senior and executive leadership.

 

Outline of Specific Functions:

  • Work under the guidance of senior and executive leadership to define and prioritize royalty examination initiatives.
  • Lead royalty examination efforts across both Recorded Music and Publishing divisions, shaping team direction, project planning, and execution in alignment with broader business goals.
  • Manage inbound royalty examinations, including organizing and coordinating audit requests, collaborating with internal teams to provide required documentation, maintaining communication with external auditors and stakeholders, and coordinating on-site examinations when necessary.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit responses and supporting schedules for internal stakeholder review.
  • Maintain detailed records of auditor communications and consistently update internal audit trackers and logs.
  • Source, extract, and prepare royalty statement files relevant to audit periods, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with Business Affairs to draft formal responses and provide support in settlement negotiations.
  • Partner with Finance to assess and accrue potential liabilities or settlements arising from audit findings.
  • Work with Royalties teams to clear suspense account items identified through the audit process.
  • Oversee and coordinate outbound revenue audit and royalty examination initiatives, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage the allocation of settlement funds related to royalty disputes or audit resolutions.
  • Lead income tracking activities associated with catalog acquisitions, including managing account redirections and modeling revenue performance.
  • Conduct targeted desktop audits on key client accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate royalty reporting.
  • Oversee special projects from initiation through planning, execution, documentation, and final reporting, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical and audit support to other departments and senior management as needed.

Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music business, accounting or similarly related field preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in Music Business, with experience in royalty accounting, collections and/or auditing.
  • Prior experience in Music Publishing and Recorded Music business operations, with experience recovering unreported and underreported revenue.
  • Possess excellent negotiation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to develop relationships across diverse teams (including legal, copyright, licensing and royalty resources).
  • Professional and comfortable dealing with senior management and company executives.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, be highly collaborative and work well with others.
  • Familiarity with database/BI software (SQL, Alteryx, Power BI and others).
  • Strong personal computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to respond positively to change and new ideas.
  • Familiar with new technologies and digital music environment and ability to provide strategic advice on a wide range of current music industry issues.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgement, ability to be resourceful and pivot quickly, and ability to think practically and be solution-orient

*This job is hybrid- requiring 3 days a week minimum on site.
