As the Director, Finance & Accounting, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day functions of payment processing between business units and third parties.  The Director will also perform complete review of Concord Label Group’s overhead expenses for accuracy and accrue marketing expenses as communicated by the FP&A team.  Works under general direction.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable and Purchase Order teams. Train and develop staff to ensure staff has necessary skills needed to complete tasks efficiently.
  • The Director is responsible for the oversight and review of all overhead expenses and marketing expenses accrued. This role will continually monitor team workflows including, but not limited to, credit cards, expense reports, and purchase order processes, and implements new changes/work processes to improve operations.
  • Complete all month-end closing duties as they relate to Accounts Payable, marketing, and overhead expenses.
  • Maintain balance sheet schedules for accuracy on a monthly basis for accounts including, but not limited to, Trade Payable, Royalties Payable, Accrued Liabilities, Accrued Bonuses, Escheatment, and Accrued Vacation
  • Review weekly cash requirement & work closely with staff to complete weekly payment run
  • Work with Royalty and Corporate on 1099 reporting and escheatment filing
  • Properly handle escheatment tasks and communications with Royalties and Corporate
  • Oversee overhead within the business unit for accuracy and timeliness by accruing and reclassing expenses as needed
  • Review overhead expenses with the finance team on a monthly basis to understand the budget and coding for incoming transactions
  • Research and resolve issues in a timely manner and with urgency as needed
  • Communicate and build various professional relationships with outside contacts (i.e. vendors, customers, banks) as well as within the organization
  • Complete various ad hoc requests by management and other departments as needed.
  • Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role

 

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. CPA designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger functions required, and strong knowledge and prior experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Minimum of seven years’ progressively responsible accounting experience preferably in an entertainment organization. Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience required. 
  • Prior entertainment experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable to evolving needs of the organization
  • Excellent reconciliation and analytical skill with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Thorough understanding of accounting workflows, so to implement proper accounting methods and principles
  • Experience with verification of W-8, W-9, and 1099 forms
  • Proactive self-starter; ability to take the lead and work with little direction
  • Extremely high attention to details
  • Outstanding communication and organization skills
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills

*This job is hybrid- requiring 3 days a week minimum on site.
