As the A&R Analyst, you'll work closely with Music Insights and A&R teams for Concord Music’s diverse group of frontline labels (Loma Vista Recordings, Fantasy Records, Rounder Records, Fearless Records, Easy Eye Sound and Concord Jazz Records) around the globe. This role will be assisting A&R in growing and enhancing Concord’s roster by developing and managing research platforms to scout emerging talent.  This role will be responsible for constructing data sets to analyze information, identify trends, and inform stakeholder decision-makers inside the A&R departments, as well as our individual label partners to build and develop A&R insights tools to find and grow our artist’s brands.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Discover, track, and analyze developing songs and artists using data-driven methods along with developing A&R research platforms to measure artists and brands.
  • Manage, formulate and lead the global artist brand new signings process to gauge signings and options exercised.
  • Develop and update statistical models and metrics to aid in artist discovery, evaluation, and performance forecasting.
  • Track trending songs and artists to identify potential signings or fits for collaborations.
  • Build and maintain automated reports, dashboards, and internal data applications.
  • Use internal and external data sources to perform detailed research and analysis on Concord’s current & future artists, releases, and marketplace trends.
  • Continually drive to improve all processes and outputs of the data & insights team.
  •  Work with A&R and Music Insight teams to understand department needs and provide insights.

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, data analytics or similar quantitative discipline is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferably 0-2 years of experience in a similar data research/strategist role
  • Proficient in Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of statistics and probability.
  • Ability to provide answers to loosely defined questions and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable relaying insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to translate numerical findings into tangible recommendations.
  • Ability to be a team player and have a “positive, can-do” approach.
  • Passion for music is essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is the rule.

*This job is hybrid- requiring 3 days a week minimum on site. 

Position will not start until July 1st, 2025”
