As the Sync Operations and Reporting Manager, you will report to the Licensing Administration team and work closely with the global Sync Licensing team, global Finance teams and Global IT teams to ensure that financial, system and reporting functions related to sync licensing are operating effectively. This role combines operations, business/financial analysis, database management, cash processing and financial reconciliation. On a daily basis, you will oversee the A/R functions for the Licensing team including processing cash receipts, preparing weekly cash reconciliations, preparing weekly aging reports, and following up with past-due clients. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing monthly revenue reports for finance and preparing global reporting for leadership, including maintaining dashboards and data visualizations. You will run point on any database enhancements and be the internal point person on operational objectives between Licensing, IT, and Finance. You should love data, Excel, Salesforce and want to tell a story with data visualization.  

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Oversee and be responsible for end-to-end Accounts Receivable process for licensing, including but not limited to preparing weekly reconciliation for cash received to underlying licensing deals, processing all direct invoicing requirements i.e., vendor set-up, purchase orders, preparing weekly aging report, chasing past due clients, resolving payment discrepancies and issues.
  • Prepare all month-end reporting for various stakeholders and Sr. Management, including budget reporting for global executives.
  • Manage the aging process and protocols
  • Lead new developments and support the ongoing maintenance of dashboards and management reporting tools.
  • Manage all reporting functions in Salesforce, including but not limited to on-demand reporting for senior management and larger Sync Team
  • Analyze income for trends and provide monthly reports on income trends as requested
  • Process all writer/artist inquiries including but not limited to Audit Requests, Client Services inquiries, & writer/artist inquiries in conjunction with Licensing
  • Cultivate close working relationships and develop trust with global finance teams
  • Performs other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications

What you need:

  • Associates in Business Administration, Finance, Music or other related discipline required.
  • Minimum 5+ years business experience, working in a financial/operational role, preferably in a music industry, accounts receivable, or data analysis capacity
  • Ability to work with large data sets, manipulate data and provide management with data analysis. 
    • Strong analytical, mathematical and organizational skills with attention to detail required.
    • Strong data entry and analysis skills with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving required.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI required
    • Experience with Snowflake and SQL preferred
  • Strong and concise communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Intellectual curiosity about the end-to-end process. You see a problem and want to solve it independently and with initiative. You seek out answers and work to solve problems. You are proactive, motivated and self-driven.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, ability to prioritize workload and manage concurrent projects/tasks.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and ability to generate reports and dashboards.
  • Goal oriented with the ability to adhere to deadline and execute on tasks.

 

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
