The Concord Music Publishing Sync Team pitches and licenses Concord's massive catalog of music and new signings for exposure opportunities in all veins of media including, and even beyond advertising, television, trailers, promos, video games and film. 

 

As the Publishing Sync Intern, you will gain the necessary skills to excel in the day-to-day life of a Sync department team member. You will develop your curiosity into self-sufficiency by learning foundational skills using different company systems and resources. You will develop a close eye and hone your attention to detail by working daily with incoming metadata. You will have exposure to the publishing world and learn the mechanics of sync by observing and helping with email marketing blasts sent to clients, realizing the importance of keeping music in the catalog organized, and studying briefs exchanged between the writers, sync team members and music supervisors. The overall goal is to help the you learn how to bridge organizational talents with their creative ones.

 

Our paid internship program will give you a unique opportunity to enhance your professional skillset, increase your knowledge of the industry, and expand your network. Our goal is to help you develop your talents as well as receive dedicated mentorship and support. Our Spring Internship Program will run from Tuesday, January 21st – Friday, March 28th and allows interns to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. This internship is a paid in-person opportunity and requires the ability to work in the specified office location. 

Responsibilities

What you’ll do: 

  • Maintain our airtable database  
  • Compile weekly Ad news 
  • Organize songs delivered to the publishing team
  • Brainstorm, ideas for possible placements
  • Assist with tracking proactive pitches
  • Putting samplers and mailers together to get out music to the music supervisor community
  • General research on upcoming music placement opportunities
  • Maintaining the audio filing system and updating song metadata.

Assist the manager with preparation for the weekly listening meeting held for the global sync team every week:  

  • Learn to organize the agenda and listening materials for weekly meetings 
  • You will also be involved in listening through the proposed songs and removing any that will not be beneficial for the team to listen to (a.k.a. not “sync friendly”) as well as transferring the information listed in the agenda into the metadata for each track.     

Email Blasts  

  • Find recent videos from Concord artists to highlight in Bi-monthly email blasts.  
  • Double check the release schedule for Concord artists/writers and any sub-publishers to make sure all new releases are included in the blast 
  • Help put together the highlight playlists that will be linked in the email. 

Qualifications

What you'll need: 

 

  • Must be an excellent communicator with good writing abilities 
  • Previous experience with/exposure to: iMaestro, Music Maestro, DISCO, Google Sheets, MailChimp, a plus  
  • keep up with the trends in advertising 
  • Experience using metadata, a plus  
  • Great organizational skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills  
  • You are a strong team player and take pride in your work  
  • Ability to pay precise attention to details and have a methodical approach to work   
  • Passion for all musical genres and lyrical content  
  • This internship is a part-time paid internship and requires someone located in/near Nashville. 
  • The timeline of this internship program runs from Tuesday, January 21st – Friday, March 28th. You must be able to work 20 hours/week.
