As the Copyright Associate, Quality Assurance, you will work collaboratively to support all quality assurance initiatives and tasks related to the data managed and maintained by the US Copyright Department. The primary objective is to ensure accuracy and data quality standards are consistently achieved across the department.  Responsibilities include the handling of data audits and validation procedures for work registrations, US repertoire management, clients/rates and LOD monitoring/tracking. The role will also support the identification, development and implementation of new quality control processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate for this role has effective communication, attention to detail, time management, organization and problem-solving/critical thinking skills, while keenly committed to providing service excellence, embracing continuous improvement, driving change and taking initiative.  A growth mindset as well as someone who effectively works under general

supervision is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Handle all quality assurance tasks related to the end-to-end copyright and publishing administration value chain, including but not limited to:
  • Monitoring and auditing procedures to ensure that all Concord repertoire submitted to the North American PROs and MROs is successfully registered;
  • Handling of CWR work registration error management and resolution process to ensure data anomalies, errors, rejections and conflicts are addressed and resolved by the team in a timely and systematic fashion;
  • Conducting systematic auditing and validation of US repertoire to ensure accuracy of song data entered into internal systems;
  • Conducting systematic auditing and validation of client and rates to ensure accuracy of royalty data entered into internal systems;
  • Tracking and monitoring of outbound LOD notifications to North American CMOs;
  • Supporting the development of new quality control processes and procedures by implementing corrective and preventative actions;
  • Preparing documentation and analysis on various quality assurance activities;
  • Conducting User Acceptance Testing for system releases and new products;
  • Ensuring best-in-class customer service is provided to Concord clients, business partners and internal customers by thoroughly reviewing, researching and providing timely responses to queries and requests;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in music publishing, preferably in a copyright administration capacity
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Comfortable reviewing, querying and analyzing large volumes of data.
  • Demonstrated experience researching, reviewing, extrapolating and interpreting information from music publishing agreements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; a drive for continuous improvement
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate and explain complex information, adapting presentation and focus to varying audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (lookup functions, pivot tables, cleaning data, conditional formatting, etc.)
  • SQL and other database management querying skills a plus

 

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
