Concord Originals is Concord’s narrative content creation division, based in Concord’s Los Angeles office. The team develops and produces stories anchored by Concord’s artists, music and theatrical works. Concord Originals takes a proactive, narrative-driven approach to each project and partners with A-list storytellers to produce premium content for screen and beyond. The division’s slate is comprised of feature films, series, documentaries and podcasts, including remakes and re-imaginings of properties from Concord’s iconic portfolio.

 

 

As the Film & TV Development and Production Coordinator, you'll work under close supervision of the SVP, Concord Originals to provide administrative and creative support to the SVP and Concord Originals team. This is a wonderful role for someone who is passionate about TV and Film Development and wants a future upward path in this discipline. In this role, you will manage communication, participate in internal creative meetings and have the opportunity to research and generate new concepts for development. Additionally, the role allows you to build relationships within the entertainment industry and will prepare you for a career path as a Film and TV Development Executive. The perfect candidate will have three years’ experience in the film/television industry, as well as a drive to support Concord Originals’ mandate and executives.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively manage the SVP’s calendar and scheduling of team-wide meetings.
  • Track the work of other Concord Originals Executives during team meetings to ensure readiness to lend project-specific support (e.g. build/update writer/director lists based on project-specific needs).
  • Assist in administrative work in tracking potential new acquisitions and development titles.
  • Become acquainted with Originals’ development and production mandate.
  • Adhere to department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain flexibility and ideate tailored solutions to unique, project-specific challenges.
  • Research, review and report on submitted and internal plays, screenplays and other works to generate potential acquisitions and new projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Outline of Specific Functions:

  • Schedule meetings and update calendar consistently, including coordinating meeting locations and restaurant reservations.
  • Stay on top of all communication as pertains to scheduling or creative tasks and take a proactive approach to coordinating the SVP’s schedule.
  • Receive incoming phone calls and handle as appropriate.
  • Plan and execute travel arrangements.
  • Maintain information pertaining to the SVP’s business expenses and prepare all expense reports according to Concord policies.
  • Attend internal Concord Originals department meetings, take notes and disseminate tasks on Smartsheet.
  • Assist with filing and data entry pertaining to the development and production processes (e.g. documenting submissions to creatives in Smartsheet grids, inputting information into SalesForce).
  • Consistently maintain an organized filing system for all project information by utilizing Smartsheet, Microsoft OneDrive and more.
  • Aid in internally tracking industry data such as compiling lists of available and relevant intellectual property, producers, writers, directors and talent.
  • Provide support and track the work of other Concord Originals Executives to ensure readiness to lend project-specific aid as needed (e.g. build/update writer/director lists based on project-specific needs).
  • Help decipher and collect music and IP rights breakdown on projects and carefully detail the information in a sharable form (i.e. Word or Excel).
  • Review stage play librettos, film screenplays, TV pilots and released film/TV projects and furnish written coverage containing evaluations of those materials to executives.
  • Generate short creative briefs (one-pagers) for potential project ideas.
  • Create decks and presentations for pitches.
  • Provide and collate story notes on internal development.
  • Liaise and engage with industry professionals and build relationships with external stakeholders as a representative of Concord

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Theater/Film/TV/Media or related degree preferred, or some combination of relevant education/experience required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar position, wherein administrative and organizational support was provided to a high-level executive in entertainment.
  • Hyper-communicator and collaborator.
  • Passionate about the intersection of theater, film and TV.
  • Strong story analysis and research skills.  
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks quickly and with an extremely high degree of accuracy; excellent organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Computer and internet savvy; specific proficiency with Microsoft Outlook/Office Suite.
  • Represent the department in a professional, positive, and polite fashion.
  • Uphold the highest level of confidentiality especially in regard to contracts and critical company communication.

 

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.

 

Salary range: $57,800 per year
