Position Purpose:

The Network & Security Engineer is responsible for developing and executing standards, policies, and best practices for network and security changes, managing relationships with 3^rd party vendors for the administration of systems and creating network & security documentation.  The technical responsibilities of this role focus primarily on firewalls and Network Segmentation and might include routing, switching, load balancing, NAC and WAN/LAN configuration. Works under general supervision.

What you’ll do:

• Lead support, maintenance and operation of IT security and network systems to ensure company strategic goals are met
• Ensure security and network systems are available, reliable and secure during all required operational hours
• Oversees vendor relationships with outsourced managed service providers (MSPs) for the delivery of network and security services
• Provide significant input into the selection, management and evaluation of IT vendors
• Provide technical security support to various departments and users with regard to LAN/WAN and Cloud-based networks
• Develop and maintain knowledge documents, network maps, standard operating procedures and training materials
• Execute small IT projects and resolve complex problems to improve IT processes and technologies
• Provide advanced technical consultative services to business/functions/other IT teams
• Audit changes made to production network and security devices
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
• Perform other duties as necessary

What you’ll need :

• 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar, or equivalent work experience required
• 5+ years of experience in support and/or operation of a wide range of IT platforms and technologies such as O365, Windows Server, Windows Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, LAN, WLAN, virtualization, backup, routing, switching, firewalls and VPN technologies required
• Strong experience with L7 Next Generation Firewalls, Secure Web Gateways, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.  
• Certification in network or security platforms preferred
• Understanding of ITIL and NIST or similar frameworks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical terms to facilitate discussion with both vendors, IT as well as with business leaders and Concord staff.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail required.
• Ability to effectively engage in multiple parallel efforts to successful completion.
• Passionate about security and following best practices.
• Ability/Willingness to travel up to 25% of time (domestic and international) to other Concord offices for meetings, IT projects, training required.
• Work outside of business hours may be required (requirement to be on call for system down/critical issues support).
• Cross-cultural communication experience very helpful.
