Craft Recordings is the catalog team of Concord’s Recorded Music division. We create thoughtfully curated products (digital and physical), with a meticulous devotion to quality and a commitment to preservation—ensuring that our vast and diverse recordings endure for new generations to discover.  


Position Purpose: Responsible for producing frontline catalog releases focusing on vinyl reissues, but also including box sets, album reissues, compilations and streaming playlists by legacy artists across the catalog division.  The Director will work closely with other departments within Concord (Creative, Sales, Digital, International) to deliver releases on time and within budget, as well as working with the project managers within the catalog group to coordinate the proper set-up of new releases. Works under general supervision.


What you’ll do:

  • Research and develop digital and physical releases
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists and their representatives to better serve the artist’s legacy and fan base
  • Work with the SVP of A&R to create an approved budget for each release
  • Create detailed label copy for releases
  • Seek out and hire liner note writers for relevant projects
  • Work closely with the Creative department to develop packaging concepts and art direction
  • Maintain communication with project managers on the status of releases and help keep projects on track
  • Look to bring in new catalog opportunities via artists or labels



What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 7+ years of proven, successful experience in the music industry, ideally working with catalog artists in a variety of genres
  • Passionate music fan with a personal drive to succeed and be a leader
  • Deep and varied knowledge of music of all styles and eras including Soul/R&B, Americana, Blues, Latin and Rock
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once and operate effectively within defined timelines
  • Demonstrated team player with attention to detail
  • Possess a strong understanding of streaming, digital and traditional retail business strategies
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • A BA/BS in Business, Marketing or related field preferred, and general agreement and acceptance of the Company’s core values is required

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
